In Pseudosymmetry Rachel Gill (aka Pinki Tuscaderro) serves up trans-genre, post-rock, anti-pop, punktronica sweetness. This prolific EP of original songs (minus one cover song) challenges pop music conventions and respects the artistic integrity of lyrical expression. Fans of indie, punk rock, electronica, classic blues and jazz, folk, beat poetry, dub (reggae) and even rap are sure to find sounds to please the ears.

“Both as a musician and a music fan, I would say that I gravitate more toward what is unique and compelling as opposed to what is catchy and perfectly pitched …. but not always. ”
My life as a musician began early on. At first, I was primarily a vocalist, performing for the first time at age 4 at my parent’s friend’s wedding and later in my school and church choirs. My interest in playing a musical instrument started in the 6th grade when I picked up the trumpet. However, it was my introduction to Robert Johnson & the Delta Blues at around age 14 that marked a turning point in my musical endeavors, leading me to pick up the guitar, learn 12 bars and sing the blues. It was around this time that I also began composing music and performing as a singer/songwriter. For several years, I was content filling the somewhat stereotypical role of singing gal on acoustic guitar with the occasional appearance on an electric, that is, until recently.
In the past two years I have worked on “Pseudosymmetry” I have stepped back entirely from live performance to enter the studio and broaden my musical skills. Transitioning from a primarily acoustic musician into the digital environment of modern recording was daunting and slow going at first. However, with time, practice, and determination, what began as a spark of interest in recording my album on my own to save money, maximize creative control, and retain ownership of my masters has grown into a full-blown infatuation with audio engineering and music technology.
Therefore, with my roots firmly planted in America’s homegrown traditions of blues, folk, and jazz, armed with my growing skills and passion for electronic music synthesis, and the vast possibilities of digital sound, I am, like many of my contemporaries, now setting out to explore and pioneer new soundscapes in this dawning era of the digital age. Blending artificial and organic tones into genre-bending song anomalies, my intent is to draw from the diverse and extensive tastes in music I acquired in the 4 years I worked full-time as a night manager in an independent music store to reach new heights in musical fusion.
